Love Hats! Come make your own with private instructions from Glenna Combs. This is a 2 day course of basic millinery study in which you will learn about commercially prepared felt hat bodies, how to measure for a custom fit and block felt over a form, apply stiffener, add wiring to the brim, and finish all edges. You will also learn how to measure, prepare, and sew in the sweatband. Finally, you will learn techniques for using the leftover felt for the fantastic embellishment of your hat. In this class, you will be making one cloche style hat similar to the one pictured. Please click on the “additional info” tab above for complete class details.

This class fee will provide you with up to 3 nights lodging in the Sycamore Hollow Vacation Rentals that are located on the studio property. Each morning there will be a continental type breakfast. There will also be lunch with snacks and refreshments throughout the day. The evening meal will be on your own. There are cooking facilities available for you to use. This class fee includes all supplies for your hat. Classes begin at 9 am and end at 4 pm with an hour break for lunch. Total class time will be 12 hours of instruction and lots of hands-on experience for you. These classes are designed for beginner and intermediate level participants. If you have a friend or significant other that will be taking the class with you, there will be a 10% discount for each of you. If you are local or within reasonable driving distance & don't need as many nights lodging as listed on each class description, the price will be decreased by $50 for each night that you choose not to stay on site.
