In this 2-day introduction to dyeing on watercolor paper with leaves and plant materials, we will be gathering leaves, flowers, and berries from the area to use. We will learn how to treat the paper with solutions so they will soak in the tannin from the plants. We will learn a little about using non-toxic plants and mordents. We will learn the process for heat immersion of treated bundles & steaming paper bundles for greeting cards imprinting. By the end of the class, you will leave with a beautiful set of 12 greeting cards with envelopes for each. These natural dyes found in nature all around us leave suttle and beautiful designs. This class fee will provide you with up to 3 nights lodging in the Sycamore Hollow Vacation Rentals that are located on the studio property. Each morning there will be a continental type breakfast. There will also be lunch with snacks and refreshments throughout the day. The evening meal will be on your own. There are cooking facilities available for you to use. This class fee includes all supplies for your hat. Classes begin at 9 am and end at 4 pm with an hour break for lunch. Total class time will be 12 hours of instruction and lots of hands-on experience for you. These classes are designed for beginner and intermediate level participants. If you have a friend or significant other that will be taking the class with you, there will be a 10% discount for each of you. If you are local or within reasonable driving distance & don't need as many nights lodging as listed on each class description, the price will be decreased by $50 for each night that you choose not to stay on site.
